QCP Presents The “GETTING IT DONE” Award And “AWARD OF EXCELLENCE”

 

JAMAICA, NEW YORK, JULY 5, 2018 − Queens Centers for Progress (QCP) presented the first annual “Getting It Done” award to QCP staff. QCP also awarded the first “Frank & Theresa Armano Award of Excellence.” The award ceremony took place on July 10, at 3PM, at QCP’s Adult Center located at 81-15 164th Street, Jamaica.

NATALIE ROGERS “GETTING IT DONE” AWARD

The “Getting It Done” award celebrates the work and spirit of Natalie Katz Rogers, QCP’s founder – who at the age of 98 is still going strong and remains an active member on the Board of Directors for the Agency.
Ms. Rogers has been a leading role model for QCP, and the award will recognize staff whose job performance demonstrates her respect for individuality, embrace of a team approach, and her caring, trusting, and compassionate approach to serving people who have developmental disabilities. The award was created to honor her.

FRANK AND THERESA ARMANO “AWARD OF EXCELLENCE”
QCP will also grant the first “Frank and Theresa Armano Award of Excellence” to a QCP staff member. The award will be given twice a year, in the amount of $500, to QCP staff whose work reflects excellence in keeping with the QCP mission.

The Armano family are active supporters of QCP. Theresa Armano, the daughter, is currently pursuing a Masters in Special Education. The reward was set up in the Armano children’s name, in recognition of the compassionate work that is done at QCP,

Nominated by their QCP peers, fifteen staff members will share $2500 in prize money, which will be awarded in both June and December, for a total of $5000 annually. At each recognition event, awards will be made ranging from $100.00 to $500.00.

QCP’s Executive Director, Terri Ross, commented, “We are so proud of the hard work and wonderful support that our staff provide to our individuals every day. These awards permit us to recognize those who go above and beyond, and take the initiative to enriching the lives of the people we serve while contributing to a positive work environment.”
