DeRosa Family donates hand-sewn masks to QCP’s Bellerose Campus

We would like to thank Robert DeRosa and Relief Society for providing masks for QCP staff, essential workers and residential program participants at our Bellerose campus.

When Robert, the ecclesiastical leader for nine congregations for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Eastern Queens and Western Nassau County, was approached by Sister Stanford – head of Relief Society – about a special project, he challenged the organization to make and sew 200 face masks in honor of the Church’s 200th anniversary of a foundational event in its history. Not only did they meet this ambitious goal, but they exceeded it by 30%!

When the task was completed, Relief Society requested to donate the face masks to QCP in support of our programs that provide services to Robert’s brother, Richard, who attends our Bellerose Day-Hab program.

Thank you, Robert and Relief Society, for your generous donation of these vital PPE. You are today’s recipient of QCP’s “You Are Awesome” Award.
