Queens Centers for Progress (QCP) has introduced a subscription membership program in partnership with MumsKitchens NYC. The program offers monthly selections of premium baked products to people throughout the USA. Offerings will change each month, and will feature delectable selections of Mum’s cookies and brownies. Memberships are available at three levels: the “Snack Pack,” “Smart Cookie,” and “Sweet Life.”
QCP faces extraordinary challenges during the pandemic. The agency serves 1200 people with developmental and other disabilities in Queens, NY, which is one of the most affected sections of NYC. Individuals who live in the group homes the agency operates require 24/7 care. QCP’s amazing staff have worked non-stop to protect and care for their individuals, putting aside their own family and personal lives. Staff require a continual supply of PPE and medical supplies to meet the demands of care. PPE has cost the agency $100K in the past five weeks.
MumsKitchens NYC has worked with QCP for a number of years, supporting the agency’s fundraising activities. Recently, MumsKitchens NYC, along with P’s Catering Services Inc., have prepared and delivered meals at no charge to the nine group homes QCP operates. Tress and Pauline have selflessly volunteered their time and products to support the agency.
The collaboration between QCP and Mums Kitchens will benefit both companies, and is a first of its kind for a locally based non-profit. Most local non-profits rely on local outreach and events to raise funds.
Wendy Phaff, Director of Development at QCP, said “QCP is thrilled to partner with MumsKitchens NYC on this exciting fundraising initiative. What better time than now to nourish peoples’ souls with home-baked products. We are so grateful to MumsKitchens for working with us to help raise funds for our organization, and we are equally delighted to be helping promote their business to our community.”
