COMMUNITY SUPPORT FOR TEAM QCP

COMMUNITY SUPPORT FOR TEAM QCP

On February 14, community volunteers from Queens Distance Runners and Achilles International Queens, visited QCP to show their support, and help train TeamQCP participants. Running, walking, calisthenics, were all part of the one-hour regimen.

TeamQCP participants are in training for the upcoming Footsteps For Progress 5K Run/Walk/Roll on March 28 (sign up at [link]).

Queens Distance Runners and Achilles have worked closely with QCP for many years, and have partnered with QCP in Footsteps as well as the NYC Marathon. The community volunteers and TeamQCP participants both benefit from the interaction, learning from each other, and fostering a healthy competitive spirit.

The Winter and Spring workouts that TeamQCP practices are an extension of the Fall-season workouts at St. John’s University. For four years, the St. John’s Women’s Track Team has drilled and worked with the participants on campus.

During the Winter and Spring, the group works out in the auditorium at QCP but QCP is searching for an indoor track for the winter.  Please reach out to Jyoti Lakhani 718-380-3000 x297 for more information.
