Grand preparations are underway for QCP’s Annual Gala taking place on Tuesday, June 21 at Terrace on the Park in Flushing Meadows Corona Park at 7 p.m.
Hundreds of guests are expected to gather for an evening of fun, music, networking, a continuous dinner buffet and an open bar. Guest Emcee Lisa Mateo of PIX-11 News will help QCP create a celebratory atmosphere as we celebrate the array of services the organization provides to more than 1,200 people, as well as honor exemplary community members.
Among the Gala highlights, QCP will be recognizing three outstanding community leaders with distinct awards. This year’s honorees include: Thomas Toscano, Chief Financial Officer/Chief Legal Officer at Mr. T Carting Corp. who will receive the 2016 Entrepreneur of the Year Award; Robert McKim, County Manager, Aramex Delivery Unlimited, who will receive the 2016 Distinguished Leadership Award; and Peter J. Morandi, CEO, Eastman Cooke Construction, who is being honored with the 2016 Business Leadership Award.
QCP’s Executive Director, Charlie Houston, commented, “One of our most joyful events, our Annual Gala celebrates QCP’s 66 years of leading people with disabilities to independence. We look forward to celebrating with friends and family as we honor our organization and some community members who support our endeavor.”
Funds raised at the Gala go directly to QCP and will help purchase items not covered by government funding. QCP’s mission is to help children and adults lead fuller, more independent lives.
