Developmental Disability Awareness Month

QCP Part of National Movement To Honor
Those with Developmental Disabilities

Queens Centers for Progress recognized National Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month in March with a heart-felt video celebrating our individuals, as well as the 230,000 New Yorkers who have a developmental disability.

For more than 66 years, QCP has worked to help people with disabilities live independent and fulfilling lives. “We honor our staff, our individuals, our families and ALL of the extended QCP Community.” said Maryann McAleer, Director of Development.

In 1987, President Ronald Reagan proclaimed March Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month, calling upon Americans to provide the “encouragement and opportunities” necessary for people with developmental disabilities to reach their potential. QCP is proud to be part of this movement and legacy.
