QCP’s Health Fair and Wellness Fair was held on February 12, 2014 by the Human Resources Department at both the Jamaica and Bellerose Centers. Health and Financial Fitness information was given out and discussed with staff while medical technicians helped with the biometrics – blood pressure, height/weight, blood sugar, cholesterol, etc. Here are some photos from this informative fair.

Queens was out in force, despite the frigid cold, to honor our “Chefs of the Year” – Joseph Sciame and Hon. Claire Shulman. With 40 of Queens best restaurants dishing out some of the finest foods around….it made for a great event. Thank you to our honorees, restaurants, guests and volunteers!  QCP is fortunate to have your support!

The Jamaica Rotary Club and NYPD visited QCP’s Children’s Center December 18, 2013 to distribute toys they collected. The children had a wonderful time visiting Santa and Frosty the Snowman with a surprise visit of “Santa Drake,” the service dog who allowed them to pet him.

Staff and individuals have spent the last few months preparing and practicing for their interpretation of the Lion King.From the music and speech therapists, down to Jack, the service dog – everybody got in on the action. Staff coached the individuals through the scenes and the music was orchestrated with the help of Janet Ingber, our music therapist. This year’s Cerebral Palsy Associations of NYS Conference was held October 21-23, 2013 at the beautiful Saratoga Hilton. The theme was “We HAVE, We CAN, We WILL.” QCP celebrated 3 staff this year for their outstanding service and dedication.
