Keller Williams Partners with QCP for Red Day

Every second Thursday of May, Keller Williams agents, leadership members, and associates step away from daily business duties, proudly donning their red KW gear, and venture into the communities they serve with three goals in mind: renew, energize, donate.

Widely known as RED Day, this annual day of service took shape in May 2009 in celebration of Keller Williams board member, Mo Anderson’s, birthday. Fifteen years later, it continues to grow in momentum as the Keller Williams family unites under a shared commitment to philanthropy.

The Bayside office of Keller Williams Landmark Realty devoted their RED Day activities to beautifying nine residential group homes operated by Queens Centers for Progress (QCP) a human services organization providing support to individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities and their families.

Members of the KW Landmark team could be found at every corner of the organization’s seven-acre campus– building fencing, power washing patios and patio furniture, raking out flower beds, planting flowers, and spreading soil, mulch and joy along the way!

Dozens more volunteers split up and headed over to the four group homes located within the Queens community. There they also beautified the properties with flowers and cleaned out garages and straightened up the outdoor areas, something that staff, who take care of the individuals who reside in the homes, do not always have time to do.

Ed Weiss, Director of Operations, was thrilled to see so many people gather to help the agency out. “Today is a great day,” said Ed. “We are so grateful to Keller Williams Landmark Realty for choosing us as their site this year. The impact they are making helps make our facilities look beautiful and affects the quality of life of the individuals whom we support. Having this space to enjoy really lifts their spirits and our staff’s spirits. We can’t thank them enough.”

Gloria Schmitt, Team Leader and Business Coach for KW Landmark, was excited to bring the agents to QCP’s campus. “It is such a pleasure to come here today to connect with the people at QCP. The individuals whom they support deserve to live in a nice and well-maintained property, just like the rest of us. To be able to make such a difference and support the agency’s mission of helping people live their best lives, is what we strive to do for our clients and associates every day. And as realtors, we know thing or two about curb appeal.”

THANK YOU KELLER WILLIAMS!!!
