Nearly 400 golfers hit the links across three golf courses for the 20th Annual QCP/Home Depot Golf Outing this fall. The event, which took place under sunny skies at North Hills Country Club, Plandome Golf Club, and Sands Point Golf Club, raised more than $1 million for Queens Centers for Progress’ programs.
The proceeds will support children and adults with developmental disabilities, helping to provide adaptive equipment to better serve QCP’s program participants. The money raised will also be used to defray the costs of educational and therapeutic services to aid the children in QCP’s preschool programs.
Crystal Hanlon, president of The Home Depot’s northern division, was honored at the event. Earlier this year, she spent time at the Children’s Center and other QCP programs, seeing firsthand the life-changing services experienced by the people served by QCP.
A lovely cocktail party was held on Sept. 7 at The Carltun in Eisenhower Park which was the start of the festivities leading up to the golf outing.
