Worksource Pre Vocational Work Center

Vocational ServicesApproximately 200 people attend the WorkSource Pre-Vocational Center, which offers the opportunity to learn both the job skills and the social and other skills needed to succeed in the work world. Our goal is to enhance self-confidence and independence while preparing for employment.

Part of our program includes a contract packaging and assembly shop in QCP’s Natalie Katz Adult Training and Treatment Center, where participants learn to perform work from simple, one-step tasks to multi-step assembly and sophisticated, high-volume automated packaging operations.

The work done in the Pre-Vocational work center is contracted from metro-area businesses. The participants are paid for their work according to their productivity, as per U.S. Dept. of Labor regulations. The program offers realistic work experiences for individuals as they prepare for employment in the community.

Our vocational training division also offers training in food service, shipping/receiving and porter-maintenance.

We serve a number of people who are hearing or visually impaired. Training is provided by staff knowledgeable in American Sign Language, and adapted services are available for individuals with limited vision. We still make every effort to help these people integrate into the working community.
