The Jamaica Rotary Club and police
officers from the 113th, 102nd and
103rd Precincts provided a delicious BBQ
luncheon for the consumers and staff at Queens Centers
for Progress’ Day Treatment Center located at The Daniel
Wieder Campus, 249-16 Grand Central Parkway in
Bellerose, New York.
The consumers ate a
delicious BBQ lunch of hot dogs, hamburgers,
sausages and the works to go with it all
generously donated and served by the Rotary Club.
The consumers also danced up a storm with Janet
Ingber as the D.J. and resident music therapist.
Cool white imprinted Rotary t-shirts were
distributed for all to wear on the hot summer
afternoon we shared together.
The Jamaica Rotary also
celebrated COP OF THE MONTH day and plaques
were awarded to officers who showed valor and
exceptional skill. All the top brass were there to
honor them. (see pictures) Executive Director
Charles Houston and Maryann McAleer, Director of
Development also presented the Rotary Club and
Police Dept. plaques for their efforts. Gerri
Feretic, Director of Day Treatment, also presented
a beautiful artistic plaque which was made by
the consumers to the Jamaica Rotary Club’s
president.
As we shared our BBQ,
landscapers were putting flowers all over the
campus which were generously donated by The Home
Depot.
There was a drawing for a
2005 Land Rover 3 Year lease which was won by the
son of one of our board members and an active
contributor to QCP. Congratulations!

Progress is very fortunate to have such wonderful
