New
York State Senator, Frank Padavan was honored at Queens
Centers for Progress Annual Evening of Fine Food held at Terrace on the Park in
Flushing Meadow Park.
State Senator Padavan has represented Queens’ 11th State
Senate District since wining his initial campaign for
public office in 1972. He is Chairman of the Senate Cities
Committee, Chairman of the Senate Majority Task Force on
Immigration and Co-chairman of the Senate Majority Task
Force on School Governance. He is a member of the
Legislative Commission on Critical Transportation Choices
as well as the Senate Majority Task Force on School
Violence and Safety. Senator Padvan is a member of the
committees on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse, Energy and
Telecommunications, Finance, Mental Health and
Developmental Disabilities, Rules, Transportation and
Veterans and Military Affairs.
During his speech Senator Padavan said that he has had
a long standing friendship with QCP and spoke about having
a road, "Frank Padavan Way," named for him at QCP’s Bellerose
Campus.
The Evening of Fine Food is an opportunity for guests
to sample signature dishes from some of the finest
restaurants in Queens including Gebhart’s Restaurant, Nick & Maggies Steak House,
Kaieteuir Restaurant, Papazzio’s Restaurant, and Sara Brown
Caterers.
Queens Centers for Progress exists in order to provide
services for children and adults in Queens County who have
cerebral palsy and other developmental disabilities. The
purpose of these services is to maximize the range and
quality of independent life choices available to the
individuals and their families.
