WALK WITH ME 2011
Queens Centers for Progress held our 37th Annual 5 Mile WALK WITH ME on Saturday, April 9, 2011. Over 300 participants walked from the QCP Center located at 81-15 164th Street, Jamaica, to Kissena Park, around the lake twice and back to QCP where a delicious hearty brunch was provided by the Palace Diner. T-shirts were distributed to walkers who raised $25.00 or more.
The schools did an amazing job this year with representation from Bayside High School, RFK High School, Francis Lewis High School, Grover Cleveland High School, Hillcrest High School, Richmond Hill High School, Townsend Harris High School, JHS 194-William H. Carr JHS, and St. Mary’s.
QCP had an agency-wide contest with five different teams – The Bellerose Blazers – The Adult Center Team – The Day Services Team –The Bellerose Campus Team and the Children’s Center One-Step-At-A-Time Team – the winning team to be disclosed as soon as all the checks are in! Good luck to all! A program party will be provided to the winning team(s)!
This was our first year using firstgiving.com and it helped us raise close to $10,000 online alone….with our bottom line doubling what we did last year! Thanks to all of our supporters!
