Ed Charles from the 1969 MIRACLE METS toured QCP’s Centers on April 14, 2011 in preparation for the Annual Gala on May 24, 2011.  Mr. Charles will be receiving the Fifth Annual Marvin Wiener Humanitarian Award recognizing his philanthropic community outreach.  As third baseman on the Miracle Mets, he got the nickname, “The Glider,” from his graceful base running.   The oldest of the Miracle Mets at age 36,  he was captured in the famous photo of the Mets’ World Series celebration, as winning pitcher Jerry Koosman leaped into the arms of catcher Jerry Grote.

QCP is very fortunate to have Mr. Charles as one of our honorees at this year’s Gala.
