CONGRATULATIONS TO

ORAL WEBB

PARTICIPANT IN QCP'S SUPPORTED EMPLOYMENT PROGRAM

EMPLOYED BY THE HOME DEPOT

Oral has been successfully employed by The Home Depot since March of 2004 through QCP's Supported Employment Program. Although he was originally classified as a "cart retriever," management quickly recognized his potential and assigned Oral to the Hardware Department as a Sales Associate. In his capacity as a Sales Associate, Oral has become so familiar with the Hardware Department merchandise and procedures, that he has worked overnights without direct supervision to prepare for critical storewide inventories.

Oral is often described by those who know him as being very personable. It is no surprise that he gets along with managers, co-workers and customers. At a recent QCP Golf Outing, Oral’s reputation for excellent customer service was acknowledged by an executive of The Home Depot who attended the fund-raising event.

Despite his disability, Oral has familiarized himself with the products he sells to the point that he can now explain to a novice customer what they need and how to use it. So well thought of is Oral, that when he initially transferred to the Jamaica store to be closer to his new apartment, professional contractors learning of the transfer are now starting to visit the store in Jamaica.

In addition to being knowledgeable about the products sold in Hardware, Oral has now learned enough about the merchandise sold in other departments that he can accompany customers throughout the store until they have everything needed for the project they came in for.

QCP is very honored to have Oral Webb win the 2009 Al Felmet Achievement Award.
