Author of "Ciao Italia"

The Queens Centers for Progress Evening of Fine Food was a great success this year! We had 30 restaurants from the Queens area cooking up their specialties at Terrace on the Park to over 200 attendees who ate and drank to their hearts' contents. Mary Ann Esposito, host of the PBS "Ciao Italia" was there personalizing her latest cookbook and making the event a superb gathering for friends and supporters of Queens Centers for Progress. The show stopped as Tequila Sunrise's Mariachi Band performed......with their sampling of great food from their restaurant in Bayside - you could have been in Mexico! And the Silent Auction helped to raise extra funds with items donated from the generous neighborhood stores and restaurants who gave great items for the attendees to have a chance at winning by being the highest bidder! We were also grateful to Jet Blue's donation of tickets to the Continental U.S. which was raffled off to the lucky winner!

Queens Centers for Progress (formerly United Cerebral Palsy of Queens) serves people with developmental disabilities. The core of all of QCP's services is the development of the individual. We believe that the people we serve can make meaningful choices about their lives and can make real progress toward greater independence and integration into the larger community.

QCP was happy that the weather co-operated by holding off Mother Nature's Blizzard of 2010 until Midnight!
