Queens Centers For Progress Evening of Fine Food


Mary Ann Mattone was named Chef of the Year at the 2008 Evening of Fine Food held at Terrace On The Park on February 5, 2008 in Flushing Meadows - Corona Park.  Mrs. Mattone has served on many boards and is currently on the Board of Directors of York College, the Italian Cultural Center of St. John's University and has been recently elected as President of the Queens Borough Public Library Board of Trustees. She has one son, Michael, and has been married to Joseph Mattone since 1991.

The Annual Humanitarian Award was presented to Jack Friedman who served on Community School Board 26 for ten years, five of those years as President. In December 2007, he was chosen to be the Executive Vice President of the Queens Chamber of Commerce.

Queens Borough President Helen Marshall was the honorary chairperson of the event.

This year we had some of the finest restaurants serving their signature dishes from the Queens area.
