2005 QCP Golf & Tennis Outing – A Great Success!

 

Queens Centers for Progress had a wonderful day at North Hills Country Club in Manhasset on September 22, 2005.  With the sponsorship of The Home Depot, we were able to raise much-needed funds for the QCP Children’s Center located at 82-25 164th Street in Flushing.  The weather was gorgeous and the golfers had a great time on the course.  We also had a nice day on the beautiful tennis courts that North Hills had to offer us!

 

The community was wonderful to us.  They donated gifts for our raffles and flowers to adorn the dinner tables.  North Bay Cadillac Hummer gave us a great 2005 Cadillac for the 12th Hole-In-One Contest.  We also had elite golf & country clubs donate foursomes to our auction.  The QCP volunteers were there bright and early, some coming as early as 6 AM and leaving as late as 10 PM.  We thank them all graciously!

This year’s Home Depot honoree, Joe McFarland, Regional Vice President, Metro NY, The Home Depot, made the event memorable as The Home Depot and their vendors came to honor his efforts to help the developmentally disabled children we assist.  Their journal ads, tee-sponsorships and participation in the day’s events made it an all-around exciting outing.

 

In addition, without our Golf Committee, we could not have done it.  With all the decisions to make and details to cover, they did it all and did it with smiles on their faces.
