Update: New Horizons Young Professional Group

The New Horizons Young Professionals Group, a dynamic group of professionals who are committed to volunteering their time, talents, energy and resources to further QCP’s mission, has held three meetings, engaging 15 individuals in the community who will assume various roles and positions in the group.

Members of the group serve as QCP ambassadors in promoting the agency to the local business community and creating business networking opportunities to all members of the group.

A good candidate for New Horizons Young Professionals Group is someone with an entrepreneurial spirit whose career is in ascendancy, who aspires to expand their network while reaching out to their existing contacts in the New York City/ Queens area, has the willingness to solicit in-kind and monetary donations on behalf of the organization and has a passion for what QCP does.

“Understanding what it means to have a family member with a developmental disability, the mission of QCP is one that is very close to my heart,” said a member of the group, Jennifer Merritt of Merritt Engineering. “I joined New Horizons to be part of that mission and help the organization achieve its remarkable goals and initiatives. I believe it is so important that each and every person in our community, along with their families, has the resources, guidance and help they need to lead a happy and fulfilled life.”

The group meets monthly and new members are welcome. Contact Wendy Phaff at 718.380.3000 (ext. 325) or wphaff@queenscp.org.
